If you could be mentored by any grandmaster, who would it be and why?

Here is the question:

Who do you think was a better chess player? Kasparov or Fischer?

I have a question of my own...

How do you get so familiar with the grandmasters?  Do you go to some game database and play through all the moves?  I'm just curious.  I'm not familiar with ANY of the grandmasters and I think maybe I should be analyzing their games at this point.

Fischer. I loved his game against that Donald(the duck?) person, and his comeback after Kasparov gets a quick series of wins.
