Computer4-IMPOSSIBLE

Today, I just played a few games with Computer 4 -IMPOSSIBLE. The games were great. But I lost most of them pretty badly and I could draw only one game. Computer 4 IMPOSSIBLE is very brutal and shows no mercy. Before I play against Computer 4 IMPOSSIBLE next time , I just wanted to ask whether playing with Computer 4 IMPOSSIBLE can really improve your chess strength or not?

Shivsky

Playing computers improves your ability to .... play computers.

Since there is a saying "play the board, not the player", improving your ability to play against computers should also improve your ability to play against whoever.

I've seen some matches against computer 4 impossible. Sometimes he makes such enormous blunders, even 900 players wouldn't make such ones.

Also, he barely calculates moves. Regardless of how much time he has, he reacts within a seconds.

And as Shivsky stated, you will learn to play against computers.

Ah computer immpossible. One thing I learned I played a 1200 computer in bullet. What a mistake, they move at least once a second, and I lost by time pressure. I think that you should play people, in a tournament you play people not computers.(hopefully unless there is cheating). Also it depends on the time control, in a blitz or bullet game I would not play it. It move  too fast for bullet for sure. Maybe a 15/10 or a 30 minute. (also called standard) IT also depends on what your goals are. For me I stay away from computers in live chess.

I haven't played Computer 4 impossible, but based on my experience playing computer 1 easy, I've discovered that it is very different from human players. While a human player rated 1100 would consistently play at the 1100 level, the computer, typcaly rated around 1100, plays mostly perfect moves interspersed with very stupid and obvious blunders.

macer75 I think you are right

i don't know if im righ but theres a lot of difference between how computers play and how humans play. computers because of the way they are programmed, fight for every square and line, and so they can create a lot of zugzwang etc.. with humans it is different, the game can be double edged and open

Today i discovered that Computer impossible could ask for a draw!!!

We had a queen and 6 pawns each and luckily he proposed it because i had far less time remaining

0w / 11l / 2d for the moment, i hope i will beat him one day. Foot in Mouth

Do any of you know how I can be able to play Computer 4 Impossible? I have a premium membership but he's not on the graph except the other 3 computers. If I challenge him, nothing happens.

check your settings, it's rating might be too high for your settings, or you just challenged it too late, try clicking on one of it's challenges...

I've noticed that the easy and medium computers usually sacrifice a piece or two in the opening / middlegame for a pawn, and then can sometimes play the endgame like a master. So they never play like an 1100 player; they play like a 500 most of the time, and then a 2500 towards the end.

I've always found players to be more fun than computers. The higher level computers tend to play bookmoves only or just destroy me on time. For me, I prefer a higher level player so you can take risks with creative combinations and moves: play the man, not the board.

Obviously if you enjoy it or feel you are benefiting from it, keep playing Computer Impossible!

It's almost impossible to beat that thing in 1|0 trust me
