My brother "can't be beaten" ?

Hello, I am a newcomer and in the middle of a game with my older brother who's been playing for years.  We've played 19 games so far & I have yet to beat him. This is the 20th game and now he's getting cocky by telling me he "can't be beaten".  Is it true?  His head is getting so big it can't fit through the door lol. I am looking for some assistance in this game so he will finally shut his trap Wink

My initial plan was to trade queens but after he went nxb3,  I had second thoughts. Would greatly appreciate any suggesttions!

I'm Black & it's my move

2200ismygoal

play nxg6 than attempt to trade off queens don`t play qxq because he can first play nxe7+

Casual_Joe

So you're asking us to help you cheat?

Jion_Wansu

Is this like this

Thx for the input, 2200.

If I play Qxe2 first & he goes Nxe7+  why not just play Rxe7...Rxe2  then Rd1+ ?

Conflagration_Planet

Play chess.

Call it whatever you like.  I'm just looking for advice from stronger players than myself - which is probably 99% of the players here, lol

Cheklate, you shouldn't be asking for help in a game that is in progress.

Rsava

While we're at it, 2200ismygoal and mendez1996, you shouldn't be giving advice on a game in progress.

Since this game isn't being played on the site, I think it's fine to give advice myself. The guy only wants to beat his brother!

MSC157

waller is 100% correct here. I still somehow suspect that it is 2nd account, because it was made today... Hopefully I'm wrong. Undecided

a. During play the players are forbidden to make use of any notes, sources of information or advice, or analyse on another chessboard.

thanks mendez, I wasn't looking at it like that.

So if go: Nxg6...Qxd2 then Rxd2... do you think he would go Nb6+ ?

-waller-

That didn't actually cross my mind MSC, nevertheless I don't think it likely myself.

Rsava, what are you quoting? FIDE rules? Why?

Rsava

Those are the rules of chess.

If you don't want to follow the rules, don't play the game.

Start with the Pawns on the 1st and 8 th rank and all the pieces on the 2nd and 7th rank.

Let the Q move like a Knight and the K move like a Q.

Why bother to play a game that has rules if you're not going to follow them.

You are aware that, on this site, you are explicitly allowed to analyse Online games on another chessboard, and make notes?

Ducksquack

Nxg6...Then maybe trade queens. Trades are good for the player who has an advantage in material. Free knights are also nice XD

You do realize that in ANY game of chess you are not supposed to ask for or give advice.

Yes, I am fully aware of the rules for CC chess. Those rules also state that you are not supposed to ask for or give advice. PERIOD.

Again, if you don't want to follow the rules of a game, don't play.

But, for the second time, this isn't CC chess. That was my original point. And none of the rules you posted are actually "the rules of chess", they are just rules for rated OTB play as recognised by chess federations.

I feel sorry for you and any of your progeny (look it up) if that is how you feel.
