Everyone on here with over 2000 got there skill when they was a kid/teen through unconscious learning now they have plateaued as an adult, because they have to learn normally like everyone else.
can we really improve??

Are you from St. Louis?
I didn't realize you had a YouTube channel, but now you definitely have one more subscriber!
Thank you my friend! Every single soul means a world to me!

Idk what's the debate about here with kids vs adults. Can someone explain it to me please?
People think you can only improve as a child.

Chess is an illusion. The moment you think you have actually got good, the results say that you are absolutely wrong.
And again. You gottu be open to new ideas. One of them being: be honest with yourself. Search your soul for why this move or that move didn't work, why am I making same mistakes over and over again. What can I do to change it?
I agree 100% that the better you get the harder it is to progress, the harder chess may be. That is a time where you need to find chess fun at any cost. Find and add exercises to your training that you like. But you have to be honest and constantly look for new ways to improve whilst also sticking with plan that already works.
One of the other common mistakes is, that people either listen to wrong advice or jump from one information to another without properly working with material at hand.

I started chess at 17, worked on it day in day out. That's how I improved beyond 2100. The reason I started stagnating after that is simple. I quit for girls, work and life in general.
Most people can't seem to accept the fact that they can learn at any age on their own pace. But they would rather say it can not be done and others will use it as validation to their similar thoughts.
It is like in business. You get to surround yourself with like minded people. They will either drag you down or elevate to their level.

That's definitely a lie. People can improve as adults. I have even seen some adults go like 800 to 1600 in a year. But I agree that learning as a child is easier. You just need to have a coach and do it systematically. Then the kids improve unconsciously while the adults...idk they don't improve the same way as kids.

kids learn very fast and can easily pick up on their mistakes and correct their play a lot faster than adults, which is why kids need less time to improve; adults on the other hand will take a lot longer.
At the most fundemental level, the way we improve is by figuring out what patterns are good and what patterns are bad. We learn this by positive/negative reinforcement (winning/losing a game), of course there are many patterns in a game so it takes a long time for us to figure out where we went wrong, and often is a result of multiple games with re-occuring patterns. The point of analyzing games is to quicken the process by purposefully trying to identify the good and bad patterns, if done right you can improve quicker with playing/analyzing games rather than just playing.
as for improving to 2000 it has been done by many adult learners, my favorite example is twitch streamer daiwynn, who reached 2000 in 1-2 years. You can improve if you have the time, patience, and discipline so dont give up.
True, but children don't learn any faster either. They just have more time. Every adult can achieve 2000 and more, but no one has the time. And I know this because my uncle became an FM at 24 and gave up his career and friends for it.
Having extra time certainly makes it a lot easier for kids to improve than it is for adults, but it is also proven that kids tend to just pick up new skills quicker than adults.

Nobody is disputing that point. GMs claim if you want to be GM you have to start early. We are simply disputing claims of so called experts that are saying it is impossible to improve.
