Can you draw when you play against a bot?

I'm new to this site.  I just played the Jade-bot.  The game came down to me with just a king, and Jade-bot with a king, rook and bishop.  I was surprised that Jade-bot couldn't checkmate me with all those pieces.  I continued playing because I'm new and wanted to see how the bot would checkmate me.  I kept waiting to see if the game would be called a draw.  After move 147, I just resigned to get out of the game.  Is this normal?  What if you come down with insufficient material to win.  Will the game be called a draw then.  I'd appreciate your comments.  Thanks.

I think 50 moves with no captures or pawn moves would have drawn but that never occurred in the game.
