I should think that it’s close to impossible to prove multiple accounts. After all, families use the same computer all the time, and my sister has used my iPad to log into her account and play when I was busy doing something else.

I do not see the harm for opening another account if you are not using it for unfair such as sandbagging or promoting users or clubs etc., but if chess.com says u can't do it, I suggest u stick with chess.com's rules.
