Canadians are really good at chess for some reason

As a Canadian, I don't think Canadians are better than anyone else, and it certainly is not a popular game in Canada. I think a more practical answer is Canadians are more likely to be using and accessing predominately English based websites such as Chess.com, and often make for a high proportion of users on English websites (such as Reddit for example) due to both a high percentage of the population's use of the internet and strong English skills. Perhaps for the same reason this is why many Chess streamers are Canadian.

In an sample that is drawn randomly, especially if it is small, there will be some strange things that happen. Just like if you drop a handful of coins on the floor, they won’t be spread completely evenly. There will be some spots with no coins and some spots with five or six.
The obvious answer is that the OP just randomly happened upon a cluster of Canadians who beat him. Psychology teaches us that humans by nature look for patterns and assign causality to events that’s are essentially random.
That’s likely what happened here... unless you are playing a Georgian. 🇬🇪
Why whenever I play a Canadian person I lose?
