Weird thing is that nobody here seems to be discussing Agon's controversial decision to try to strong-arm any live transmission of the moves... despite the fact that legal precedent states that moves of a game are not copyrightable intellectual property, and despite the fact that legal precedent also allows factual information about sporting events to be transmitted live by third parties.

What really irritates me is how chess24 and others simply caved when presented with a cease and desist.

Agon wants to pull this same typical heavy-handed Russian-mafia sh*t with the WCC match, too. I'm hoping that the websites that stoppped coverage are planning on fighting this out in court in time for the championship. In the meantime, I hope Agon continues to suffer DDOS attacks. If I still had LOIC installed on my machine, I'd be tempted to join in from a VPN.

Because the information already exists, and it is easy to find. Reproducing it here is redundant. If you're interested in the topic then add something of your own. Tell us which player(s) you are interested in for example.
