Can't start a new game

I am unable to start a new game because Chess.com says, "You can't start a new game as you are already in a game," even though I am not. Later, I discovered that my account has many games marked as "abandoned" after the first move, which led to a restriction on my account. However, I never played those games, they were never displayed on my screen.

This is so irritating. I am using Chrome on a PC.

You might try clearing your browser cache.

You're likely experiencing lag but it's also possible that other software on your system is interacting badly with the site code (browser related plugins)
