Quick question. Ive been hearing about this Capablanca, in a few different forum topics. Just wondering who they were?

Capablanca was world champion from 1921 to 1927.  Check the Chessopedia (click on Learn | Chessopedia) for more details.

Jose Raul Capablanca was a former World Chess Champion, his "claim to fame" so to speak was his exceptional end game play and also ease of play, meaning he kept things simple when he played,I hear that beginners would benefit from studying his games.

Capablanca is a coward.

The guy is 129 years old. Too old to play daily, rapid, blitz and bullet.

I would comment that stylistically there were two Capablancas. Young Capa had a more aggressive tactical style, sometimes almost Fischer-like. In old age Capa got a bit lazy and outplayed his opponents with superior positional play.

By the way, Fischer thought Capa was slightly overrated as an endgame player. While Capa excelled at precise endgame play in simple positions, Fischer thought Capa wasn’t quite as good at tricky double-edged endgames. The thing is, Capa only rarely had to play double-edged endgames. Fischer thought Capa’s real forte was powerful positional play in the middle game and late middle game. Thus he would so often get an endgame where he had a tiny advantage, which was all he needed to score the point with precise play.
