People blame his opening, but he was absolutely fine after his f5 move.
Funnier still was the way he loudly pounded out Qe6 as though it was some boss move.
This might come as a major shock, so brace yourself: He's actually a human being. And as everyone knows, humans make dumb errors now and then. So you really shouldn''t be surprised.

There was nothing in my post that even vaguely warranted this kind of sarcasm. Carlsen making a blunder in a slow game that looks like one of my speed chess blunders warrants a "wow". Suggest you take your snarky comments elsewhere.

This honestly was much worse than his blunder in Game 6 (which Vishy missed). In that game, there was a sequence where Vishy could have gained 2 pawns after a series of 3-4 moves and a rook exchange.
This one is just... wow. I mean, Magnus Carlsen is a truly great player but this is such an incredibly obvious blunder of a piece that it's still hard to believe that it happened. After Qe6, just about ANY player with a rating of about 1300 (i.e. anyone above novice) could quickly see that g4 immediately wins the TRAPPED bishop and a little further examination reveals no counterplay by Black since the bishop capture is a forcing move.
Ridiculous. This will undoubtedly be the worst blunder made by the extremely talented Carlsen for a long while. It's just fortunate that it was not made in a particularly important game.

For that alone statues of Make Mine Magnus should be erected in every chess club, and burnt offerings laid at their plinths, after every closing hour...
And today Carlsen moves Qe6 and is smoked by g4. Wow....
