what do you guys think

can carlsen get a win, or will it be a draw, or possibly kramnik winning

If Carlsen can earn a win with white vs. Kramnik, his stock price is going to skyrocket.  Personally, I think Kramnik is the most likely to win the event if Carlsen doesn't.

However, I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that the result will either be a draw or else a win for Kramnik.  Kramnik has a good record against Carlsen (+4,-3,=11, according to chesgames.com), and I think Kramnik is the most likely of the contestants to keep his calm in the face of Carlsen's recent intimidating record and new record rating.

Granted, I admit this isn't a going out on a real dangerous limb, because I really think they're going to draw, but if it is decisive, I'll predict Kramnik will be the victor.

Given that detailed and through discussion of their strengths and

weaknesses it is very hard to disagree.

Just my opinion is all.  At about 1400-strength, I'm not going to make an idiot of myself talking about playing styles and their specific advantages and disadvanatges over one another which is all way above my head.  Kudos to those who understand it, but I discuss chess the same way I discuss football or basketball.  I just look at results, listen to hearsay, get a vibe, form an opinion, and wait and see what happens! I actually agree with your opinion. Kramnik has a reputation for being able to hold super solid against some of the best attackers ever (kasparov!).
Kramnik will probably content himself to a draw if he doesnt see any way to win. Carlsen on the other hand may try too hard to force a win maybe off some small advantage (which is what makes his games exciting). If he pushes for a decisive result I too think it may be kramnik who wins.

In this tournament, draw as Black, strive to win as white.

Kramnik had the misfortune of starting the tnmt with two blacks in a row. Even so, I give him excellent chances to emerge no less than .5 behind whoever is in first place after two rounds.

is chess com broadcasting these games? and if so does anyone have a list for what time they are starting?

It is unfortunate the draw has Carlsen meeting both Aronian and Kramnik so early, it does make them tend to accept a draw where they might not later in the event.

My thoughts exactly. I cannot see Carlsen doing much in the opening two rounds. It is just too risky for him. The fireworks will be left for later. Of course I hope that I am proved wrong!

If Kramnik can get into the Berlin defense or the Catalan, I don't think there is a human player alive who can break through.

I would agree, if Kramnik had the white pieces. But since Carlsen is white, it's more likely that it's either a draw or a win by Carlsen (with a draw by far the most likely outcome).

One of my favorite Kramnik quotes was: "I have +1 against both Kasparov and Carlsen". And yes, positive scores against all the other Candidates. Like a boss. Cool

I'm a Carlsen fan, but I think it will be a good game.  I predict a draw.

Funny. That quote just conjures an image of Kramnik as a Dungeons & Dragons fan holding his equipment over his head saying "I'm prepared! I've got my chessboard +1 vs. Carlsen and Kasparov!" (/D&D geekiness)

Kramnik = Diet Carlsen

Kramnik is as close to Carlsen as a mere mortal can ever get.

He is very consistent, just like Carlsen. But at the end of the day, he is still only human.

Carlsen-Kramnik was the least interesting of the four games today. It seems that Carlsen's strategy is to draw against the +2800s and beat up on the fish.
