Carlsen grew up playing chess against strong modern grandmasters. He's had the best resources and even private tutoring from Gary Kasparov to teach him opening theory. You couldn't teleport Morphy from 1859 and expect him to compete.
But even up the playing field somehow and I wouldn't bet against Morphy. He didn't miss mates in three like Carlsen.

Then we would be talking about talent. Morphy may be more talented than Carlsen, I dont know, but Carlsen is stronger.
