hi.

i'd like to know wich castling side is better, kingside or queenside, or if they are both of same tactical value in most game cases?

all else being equal, kingside is usually better, but queenside may be better in positions where the kingside is unsafe.

It also depends whether you want to pawnstorm on the side that your opponent has castled. If you do, then you should castle on the opposite sibe of your opponet's king so that your king is not behind the advanced pawns.

alright thank you.

The pawn is actually pretty stron. If a bishop takes it, then you can trap the bishop. If it is attacked, it just takes 1 move to protect it. The pawn is not as big of an issue as wether you want to pawnstorm (or if you already moved your pawns on one side)

When you castle kingside, you usually spend an extra move to get your rook to a center file.

When you castle queenside you usually spend an extra move to get your king to a knight file.  (It's not just the pawn, but the king is more vulnerable on the bishop file).

So the extra move isn't a big deal IMO.

It may be that castling queenside requires you to move 3 pieces out of the way instead of two.  And one of them, of course, is the queen.  Because you usually can't determine the best place for her so early, you may end up wasting a move.  And because tempo is so vital in the opening, these added 1-2 moves make queenside castling less attractive.

Just a guess.

in most cases queen side casting is more aggresive
