castling should be banned, explanation inside

The OP has made a serious suggestion and all anyone can do is take the p !
I too have a suggestion. I would like to introduce football(soccer's) offside rule to pawn promotion. You can only promote if the defending side has at least two pieces on his first two ranks. Chess needs to appeal to popular sporting ideas, otherwise it's just a feudal throwback that is out of touch with modern people !
Why just borrow from football/ soccer? I would like to suggest borrowing the shot clock from basketball. Each side has 24 seconds to make a move, and if a player doesn't move within that allotted time, he forfeits his move on that turn and his opponent gets to move again.
I like the offsides rule; also, there should be timeouts and substitutions allowed e.g. each player should have a "bench" which includes one of each type of piece. If the corresponding piece is captured, you can substitute your replacement piece by calling time out.
That's a great idea! Although personally, I think that instead of just having 1 of each piece on the bench, players should be able to determine their benches themselves, with certain restrictions (such as total # of points in material. Then we can even create a transfer market where players can trade their bench pieces with other players (e.g. 2 bishops and a knight for a queen).

From now on, we are to play exactly like this random Robert Steel guy I found this game of. His opponent happens to be the infamous "NN" who has never won a single game by the way.

Wow! I like it. You could even have an annual draft where players get to choose pieces to add to their teams.

my grammer and spelling is fine if you have nothing nice to day doesn't say it at all etc
-_-

Actually there really IS a variant of chess in which:
There is no castling.
You cannot move the pawn two steps in the first move.
If you have less than 2 pieces left with your king, you can declare it a draw if you want to (a lone king or king with only one piece left, cannot be checkmated).
In the start, black's king is placed at d8 instead of e8.
It is known as "Indian Chess". It is hell slow, and once a side gets to get two pieces involved in the game and give a check, it is usually impossible for the opponent to avoid checkmate in the next 15-20 moves.
Horrible, horrible type of chess, I can tell you. I have played some games under these rules with guys who play this type of chess as norm (they didn't even know the international version of chess exists with focus on fast play!) and lost all the games which I failed to draw (the moment I exposed their king and it had no piece left, they immediately declared it a draw :( )

I have a better idea, let's ban the op!
Yeah, report him.
For what?
Okay, then. Castling is a terrible rule. It gives a very unfair advantage to the first castler. It is kind of like having the first move in chess. Anyway, the game can be played without castling. Many greats have played like this.
Also, making a castle is plain unfair for openings like the Sicilian, Botvinnik, Moscow (d4) , Variants of the Catalan, etc. The castle allows the king to mercilessly give up his own men just to try not to get his butt kicked.
