Which is better depends on the position and its not called "rooking" because english is an illogical language.

depends on postion of pieces,how you develope your pieces,kingside is the quickiest way to castle if you want to castle early.
its called "castling" because it gets your king into a secure fortress, and as for queen-kingside, depends on position.

It's not called rooking because when you 'rook' someone it usually refers to mating them on the back rank with a rook when they have forgotten to create an escape square for their king.
