So does mine. If I use Houdini I can't do anything else. Internet pages don't (re)load until I close it.

That's why I prefer using Rybka for analysis of finished games.

really? i can have 3 houdini 1.5's up and it will still work though it is slow. i once had 5 up, but then the interent crawls along.

How many threads are you running?

I was lucky I think because of some "techincal problems" at the beginning. We will see if BryPin would like to play 2nd round of this "match". The first game was very very entertaining, also exhausting. 90+ moves. Smile

Hello! Would anyone like to play a small match against me, 4 games, 5 days per move, with engines, databases, opening books, everything allowed? Of course, games would be unrated.

You call it advance chess, but yet computers are performing the calculations, not you.

MSC157

90% computer's calculation and 10% strategy of mine.

BryPin

At first 99% me (because I'm an idiot, I set it up wrong) then the program took over just to drag it out. I could have let it keep going but I wanted to move on. Maybe this time I'll work it right. I still don't know how to find the game I save if I use the Fritz for play against it. Once I go back to open our saved game, it can't find it. Still working on it.

MSC157

Not completed game yet, but if BryPin moves now, I'll resign. It was not a wise idea to experiment with Berlin. :)

Ok, I updated the score, it's 1.5/3 for both and only one rund to go!

Enjoy the game!

M'key, not sure what and how it happened, but I won the last game and the "match". Thank you BryPin very very much, I enjoyed playing it and also learned somehing new about the engine, if nothing else. I can use this knowledge in future occasions.

In the future I'm thinking of a small unrated tourney, with engine use allowed. We'll see how things turn around.

Final standings (#1).

I still messed up the engine once or twice but it too made a few moves that turned the game in black's favor. It was a good learning experience, thanks for the opportunity.
