I'm begginer at chess . I just wonder , in openings very often enemy bishop pin knight with moves g4 b4 b5 g5 .. I'm wondering is good to play pawn moves a3 h3 a6 h6 ,to kick that bishop out ? In my opinion ,if you kick that bishop out ,you dont lose tempo and get that nice pawn to prevent enemy knight to get foward . And if bishop takes ,you trade knight for bishop ,and also open a file for a rook ? Should I keep playing those moves?( keep in my that is in beginner level.)

Good question.

To ask yourself several times throughout the game.

I think it is better to not know the answer since it depends on the position.

I think its the same with asking whether a bishop is stronger than a knight.

It helps your rating more if you don't know since then you will be forced to think about that exact position.

Here is a thread which discusses why white plays h3 in response to Bg4.
