Chat banned for calling out a cheater

Public accusations aren't allowed because so many people are just sore losers and have no idea what cheating actually looks like. That guy sounds suspicious, sure, but the right thing to do was not accuse them in chat, but message a moderator who could then try to get the Fair Play team onto it ahead of even the automated systems, although obvious cheaters are identified and banned pretty quickly nowadays.
Chess.com has always been clear that public accusations are not okay, so your TEMPORARY chat ban shouldn't have been a surprise to you. Don't come crying to people in the forums about it - it's ridiculous.

i side with the OP. 16 game win streak with 98% accuracy. maybe he should have messaged a moderator, but who cares if he calls out such an obvious cheater?

This site prefers to hide its cheating issue in one of the clubs. Far fewer people see it there. I'd prefer it out in the open. That white elephant is still in the room, even when it isn't.

That’s fine I til someone calls YOU out as a cheater. “Evidence” gets presented and all these arguments happen about whether that’s conclusive enough or not, some people think it’s 80% likely you cheated but that’s not enough to ban you but you get to live with that accusation hanging over you whenever you get into an argument on the forums. Mud sticks.

Discussions of cheating, potential cheating, or cheat detection are not allowed in the general forums.

@Carwasher_Superdrunk, while public accusations aren't allowed, you weren't mute for that, but were caught by the auto-mod for the word choices used while doing it.
