Chess.com has invested a lot into their cheat detection methods including consulting GMs and statistics professors.
The after-game analysis and other analysis tools available to members isn't part of chess.com's cheat detection system at all. They've said so themselves.
Chess.com has to do better than after game analysis, especially in tournaments. First, we ought to be able to have at least SOME tournaments that are for PAID members ONLY. That will reduce cheating considerably....but not eliminate it. Second, the rules for say...Swiss tournaments that are 1500+ should be open to 1500+ and under which they are.....BUT.... the Swiss that runs at the SAME time should be restricted to those UNDER 1500 ONLY. Third, I don't know what else can be done when an 800 player plays 1000 points above their rating. Everybody can have a miracle game I know but tournament miracles seem to be more common than raindrops in a hurricane. Just venting, thank you for reading. I still wish chess.com would do SOMETHING.
p.s. I do all the usual things.....with those I strongly suspect cheating, blocking and such but I don't like to have to keep reporting them....not that it's an everyday occurrence. I really can't say why but I run into much less cheating on lichess.org....which has some better and some worse features. I don't think I'll renew my paid membership. I can take the cheaters more easily when I'm not paying to be cheated. And that is the most important point.
