just say NO .

to all the people who only want to play non professional players and do not want to play great players, i apologize if it bothers you for letting him play

IrrationalTiger

This is so bizarre... After looking at more games, I'm pretty sure that kevinplayer is telling the truth!  Obviously his opposition has been weak so I can't be sure, but all the french lines are the same as Akobian's (note the Qb6 tarrasch and how black plays against the advance French), the King's Indian Smyslov Variation is another line played by Akobian, etc...

Strange, though...

irrationaltiger  are you in calif ? maybe you can meet us for lunch in burbank during the week when we all have time

If someone's playing under their own name, it's legit.  If someone besides yourself is playing under your name, it's pretty much illegal.

In the 1950s Humphrey Bogart, the famous actor, had lost a $100 bet in a chess game to a strong player, a restaurant owner in Hollywood.  That evening, Bogart called the restaurant owner wanting to play a game over the phone for a chance to win back the $100. Unknown to the restaurant owner, Bogart was with the former US Champion, Herman Steiner, who made all Bogart's moves for him. Bogart easily won the game.  Of course, it was a joke and the bet was called off.

Kevin, I'm remaining anonymous at the moment, but nope, I don't live in California Frown.  Thank you for the offer, though!

since no money is involved and this site is a play for fun site i still do not feel it is wrong to watch a player play. to all the players he played you had the opportunity to play someone that you probably might have never played and now you can analize the games to improve your play. he gives lessons and is easy to find since his web site was posted. thanks for all the comments.

To all the players who think when they cheat we should thank them for cheating, they should apologizeLaughing

IrrationalTiger

Yeah, it's cheating, but it's still pretty cool to get a chance to play a strong grandmaster.

I'm sorry.  Money has nothing to do with it, nor does unrequested "opportunity."    If someone else, a GM, a patzer of a progam made moves using your name,  it fits every known definition of cheating.  This doesn't mean the cheating was malicious, but it was intended. I, also, see nothing cool about it.

It would explain him getting bored.

Or, maybe the light was in his eyes, or he didn't like the way the room was arranged, or...
