checkmate = blunder

a checkmate move is a blunder???

(how do you post image? no icon for image posting. i thought i can simply paste it here. it appears when i paste it, but it does not post)

Maybe the computer thinks checkmate is not fancy enough.

To post an image, look at the second icon from the left on the top of the chat box. But I've also seen this in a drill, where it said something like Qc7# is a blunder when Qb8# was the best move.

I think what happens is that it's the wrong checkmate. Maybe the computer has a specific move it likes, (a checkmate) so any other checkmate is considered inferior.

Sometimes, if your piece can be captured, it is a blunder. Here:

But the piece can't be captured since there's a king behind the queen.

but if the king wasn't there, the queen would be hanging

And then you get a random person, posting an awful game, in an irrelevant thread from three years ago….normal for here I guess
