Checkmate Pattern Statistics?

Hi All,

I've seen various endgame statistics that speak to how frequent certain endgames are, eg. Rook Endgames, King & Pawn Endgames, etc. These stats are useful in helping one determine a priority rank order for study. Focusing on the most probable first.

Are there any such statistics (even anecdotal) that rank order the various checkmating patterns or mating nets by frequency? eg. Back Rank mate, Ladder/Lawnmower Mate, Blind Swine Mate, Hook Mate, Andersen's Mate, etc.
I'd imagine something like Back Rank mate will account for a decent percentage, where-as something like 'Suffocation Mate' will be fractions of a percent.

This does not talk about specific patterns, but it does talk about the pieces used the most in the final move. That may narrow the field a bit.

Annoyingly, these stats are hard to find but this blog has some interesting info based on the checking piecearchive

L!chess also has a pretty good 'advanced search' which could give you a visual list of Check patterns, but it might take until the end of time to look thru all these!

Checkmate does not really occurs in games: games end in resignation and checkmates only happen in calculations of variations to avoid.

@Bot_Boy haha that is the link that was supposed to be in my comment

Thanks all. Just remembered this threat existed. I'll take a look at that link.

Would also appreciate any input from stronger players regarding which patterns they believe are most probable and worthwhile to truly study?
