Richard James of "the Chess Addict" and "The (Even More) Complete Chess Addict" fame (with Mike Fox) published a game purported to have been played between Jeffrey Archer and J. Slater.
Does anyone know if this game was actually played, and, if so, when and where it was played?
If J. Slater was Jim Slater, the financier and chess angel?
Found this from "Find the Checkmate" - Gary Lane that references a game played in London 1968 between these gentlemen. An example of Legall's mate. No mention of any other details.
