Hi everyone, we've all heard chess advice given plainly and simply in one lines. I was wondering which one liner did the trick for you?
For me it's definitely 'Improve your worst placed piece' -Mark Dvoretsky.
It helped me at gained at least 50 elo points!
Another one has also got to be 'Chess is 99% tactics' -Teichman (or was it Tarrach?)
Speelman has a great quote too:
Play the opening like a book, the middle game like a magician, and the endgame like a machine. - Spielmann
I found this one-liner awhile back and it's a good one:
"When you see a good move, look for a better one" -- Emanuel Lasker
"Sit on your hands"
Richard Teichmann
The winner is the player to make the next to last mistake.
An overwhelming position in center allows an attack for the flank. (Aaron Nimzovitch)
Who said that liner Nosferatu? =)
Here's another one of my favorites: A passed pawn is like a criminal that must be kept under lock and key. -Nimzowich
