Chess And Darts At Future Olympic Games

Any way, you didn't answer to my question. So ..

I'm not where to try to change people mind because I realized thats impossible with chess players, so I dont know what I'm doing, because thats the only thing I'm goss at. So, see you

Fuzfa

I wish I could count cards in black jack.

I don't see chess to be included in the Olympics and I don't think it should be since chess has its own "movements" already in existence, like FIDE and the USCF, etc. I just don't think it's necessary. Anyways, if chess does become part of the Olympics, I would definitely watch the television more often. Laughing

Kupov. Don't worry, you are not alone in this arguement. I, along with most of the people that have understood your arguement correctly from the start I am sure, agree with you.

And for some reason your competitors still seem to think that a feeble arguement about a totally unfounded gap in your ability to play poker will win the arguement.

I think the highlight of my enjoyment in this thread was the rather wonderful statement: "and kupov are u retarded=BASEBALL DOES NOT START WITH A COIN FLIP!!" Not only was it not you that brought it up, it also makes no difference to the arguement.  Teeheehee :D

Anywho all the best with the rest of the debate, I'm rooting for you (and in a broader sense- logic).

I wonder, if Phelps had slipped off the starting line and broken his knee on the poolside, would you be saying he was an unskilled swimmer or just an unlucky swimmer?

There's a reason for the phrase "any given Sunday."

Pure chance enters into every human endeavor.  And so does a person's knowledge, skill, and will.  The difference between chess and poker, in that regard, is just an arbitrary line someone drew.  In chess, someone will always get stuck playing black and the statistical disadvantage that comes with it.

Ehhhh your logic is flawed obviously Anand could have suffered severe brain damage in a car accident (etc) on his way to the World Championship matches with Kramnik. Would this be a sign of luck inherrant in a game of chess? No of course not. (and yes I realize that jumping into the water is a part of swimming)

Phelps can swim faster than you, you would never swim faster than Phelps, the same way you would never outplay a grandmaster. And not only is my argument based on that you would not do those things, but that you in fact COULD not.

Whereas with poker it is entirely possible, albeit unlikely to beat a top rated player.

Oh, it's this kind of discussion... ok.

Ehhhh, you're logic is flawed.

Ok, your turn.

Kupov

I explained exactly why your logic was flawed.

Good try though....

Kupov

Also that was hardly an insulting or disrespectful statement, your logic is clearly flawed and I pointed it out with absolutely no name calling or any other trivialities.

Threebeast

I do not think there any sports or activity that compares to depths of chess. I understand the all TV and poeple flock to poker, but it does compare to chess. We have seen people from out of the blue win poker tournaments, that does not happen in chess.

onthehouse

Darts, perhaps. Chess, doubtful.

warrior689

well its not likely, but I hope chess makes it.

CHCL

A four year bump. :/

DrSpudnik

Matches olympics timing.

Fear_ItseIf

lol darts

DrSpudnik

lawn darts!

kyriazis

not gunna happen, they olympic commitee pretty much just removed wrestling from the olympics...

Fear_ItseIf

sadly, its probably more likely darts will get in one day than chess.
