If any popular science channels have managed to captivate the general population, then it's the nutshell.

We ought to make Kurzgesagt synonymous with it. Stephen Hawking wrote the popular science bestseller, "The Universe Kurzgesagt." Hence appealing slightly more.

hi, I am struggling between 1450-1600 from last 3 years . no matter hard I try I unable to defeat any 1700+ player , this brings me a theory that it is possible that my IQ is capable only to achieve around 1600 and I can't defeat any 1700+ players since their IQ Must be better than me .. I see it's all LUCK..lucky those 1700+ players who naturally got bigger sharper brain ...it's not Talent but Luck ...thank you

It's useful to have a little perspective on all of this. What does excellence at chess mean ? For a very few folk a reasonable pay day. For the rest of us we enjoy it and try and "overtake the runner in front of us".

I think the idea that chess is science and art is a load of baloney. Do we as chess players appreciate the greats ? Yes sure, but I believe that someone who invented the paperclip or raised healthy responsible children is superior to Fischer, Kasparov, Carlsen et al

The paper clip is useless.

How could it be good?! It's a wondrous manifestation of prime science which remains at the forefront of our daily humdrum but modern lives! Your understatement is far from justified. happy.png

Torsion? Friction? Yes, but for anything else, no, and strictly no!

"Only someone with an IQ of over 9000 would be able to have more than 2000 elo" - Thomas Jefferson. He wrote that in his book "How to be a god at chess and on the ring", recounting his many achievments in both chess and boxing.

Therefore, OP might be right, brain power is necessary to be a great player.
