Chess and life:

I stare across the board. I see my mortal enemies ready to pounce. The warriors on the opponent's side are my worries. They trouble me most.

I shall look back at my army.

My pawns are my rights and responsibilities, and, in a way, my fighting spirit. I always start with my pawns, I gain some, I lose some, but that's the least of my worries.

My rooks are my guardians. They look after me like they look after an open file. They guide my soldiers, my fighting spirit, my soul.

My knights are my scouts. They jump around, looking for prey. They are my five senses. Without my knights, I have serious difficulties on attacking my worries.

Bishops, bishops, bishops! They are loyal to me, as they are in chess. They stick by my side, even if the going gets tough, like your best friend.

My dear queen is my human body. It determines who I am, what I look like and my attitude towards other things, which is similar in chess as the queen is influential.

Ah, finally, my king. It is my soul, my life. It is why I'm cautious, why I have emotions. All my bits, rooks pawns knights bishops and queen, are willing to give aid to me. I am grateful but I must be careful as I'm not to waste innocent lives and get myself killed.

Chess depicts my life in many ways. I have great friends (bishop), and I'm under parental guidance (rooks).

Hope you enjoyed my story!
