I'm recently getting back into Chess after a long hiatus. This go round I'm teaching my daughter to play, so far she really likes it.
My question is - with the power of applications on ipad is it worth having a desk top chess program. I believe I still have Fritz 2010 (or something like that). Or wil the apps on ipad more than fill its shoes? and are they even needed?
I'm looking a purchasing a few apps that I saw reccomended in a post on these very forums and was just looking to narrow my options.
Thanks in advance and I look forward to playing some chess with you all.
Tablets/Mobile devices (w/the plethora of apps) do everything well except database management.
Which of course is something your daughter probably doesn't give a damn about right now (if she did, wow :)) so go ahead and ditch the desktop software!
Lol, thanks for the reply Shivsky! It's much appreciated. The desktop software would have been for me in any case. I can always dig up my old copy for my own use hehe.
