if supposed both sides playing chess perfectly white initial advantage is it enough to win the game or if it is a draw.
It's possible that it is a win for Black. That is, the initial set up could be a zugzwang, and whatever move White makes loses.
It may not seem very likely, but I'm not even sure our intuitions about such things are any good. All we really know is that the size of the computation required, assuming it has to be done be brute force with conventional computers, is such that the universe isn't big enough to finish it before the Big Crunch - assuming we have the size and lifetime of the universe about right.
I don't know how much quantum computing would change that.
All in this life have their presumptions, just some statements are more "rational" than other or fits better to keep the consistence in the framework of a theory which tries to provide a picture about "how things works". So yeah, some things are more likely to be than other and that's what science is all about. And yeah, all theory rests over a basis of "beliefs". And anyway, despite of this lack Of "exactitude" science have shown to be the most powerful tool for "technological development". Also I didn't have and answer about how much QM computing could change things & I guess you all also do not have. So my attemp was just to provoke some reactions, I didn't have the expectation you were going to came up with an answer. So I just sit here and keep reading if it is possible to solve chess or not in order to the number of protons there are in the universe ;).
