Are here any people who play chess for a living? What do you think are the advantages and disadvantages of doing so?

Of course, many GM's. The advantages are you play a game you love for your career. It is also pretty lucrative for the top couple. The disadvantages are that unless you are in that top couple, it will not pay you much, and you need to perform to win prize money

@IgorKravitz well, sadly I have never played daily chess on chess.com
