I am considering buying the book fundamental chess openings on gambit to get better at theory for kings Indian defense and caro kann I know it is a very popular book. Do you guys recommend I get it?

ive never read the book but I do have some reasons why you shouldn't get it.

1. books require a lot of setting up and it takes so much longer to learn

2. you dont really need to learn theory upon theory of openings, you really only need to know the main ideas/plans

If you buy FCO, you can learn not only the black side of KID and CK,.but also learn the white side of other openings like French, Italian, Spanish, etc. Opening Manuals cost cheap to learn majority of openings basic theory.

Chess_player_lol it is a book inside the gambit app which cost $10, and it shows a board on the app that you can click the arrow and it goes to the next move so you don’t have to set it up in the board.

No, it is not recommended. Better buy Fundamental Chess Endings.
