Chess Bots Rating

Why are the bots’ rating so high, even if someone like me with half their rating can beat them?

They make rather strange moves, and overall I think they’re inflated

They’re inflated to make u feel good and proud. Then u’ll keep on returning to play and spend more time on chess.com. Its pure marketing

Bot ratings seem high because they aren't determined by playing against humans; instead, they are programmed to mimic a certain level by mixing strong, engine-like moves with occasional, significant blunders. This makes their high ratings feel inflated, as a human of the same rating would likely not make such obvious errors.

I’ve beaten bots with a rating 3x higher than me
