Chess Caste System

is there an unspoken rule that your right to speak is defined by your rapid elo? no one will care how many advancements you make, because apparently even if you solve the reimann hypothesis no one will give a singular crap if some dude has 200 rapid elo, and also no one will give a crap if they are like 2000 daily but at that point they would be about 1500 rapid or higher

Does chess have a caste system and if it does why can’t we revert tot he time it was actually just fun and not like if you are 400 then no one cares about you you are trash you have no right to talk to ur opinions don’t matter you are insignificant you will never be loved by anyone. Dude, this one random 8 year old I found is just trying to have fun.

“just improve your rating 🤡 🤓 “ ok what if the op has no time because they have homework or a 9-5 or a YouTube career.

some people just like having fun. like i like having fun destroying sven in chess matches where i use the most ridiculous or cursed chess openings possible because i have free will.

also you can be an impulsive guy or have adhd and i have adhd so i am impulsive. that is not an excuse for my rating but come on we don’t have to act like our fathers that were like “omg ur brother can do it you can too! trời đất ơi em của con mới có 5 tuổi và 1300 elo rồi!l dude humans learn differently 😭 🥀 i’m good at math but horrible at probability and chess and the world needs to accept that

then again, it’s just like reddit karma but harder to get 😏

The [chess] rating might be an indicator of qualification in [chess] related questions (in fact you can replace chess to any other activity where universal numerical indicators are used)

The actual behaviour on a particular forum depends on the participants and the goal of that forum

Why is it so hard for some people so simply have fun btw idk why some people act beginners are not allowed to have fun. If you remember drinking directly from the garden hose and playing outside as a little kid then you should also be allowed to have fun in chess. i played the meadow hay mistake against sven because i wanted pure unadulterated fun. not many people will want a career in chess, and some people play for fun.

People also don’t understand low elo is not a single “disorder”, it’s a spectrum. like autism. people only care about your results not the way it was made.

I wonder if anyone thinks my rapid rating has any value at all.

yeah I also like expirementing. If the engine says its a bad move it can still have value on the chessboard because it can build a unique position thats why i play with bots too so that i can expirement more and takeback when I want and then I can make all kinds of 'not good' moves and then get into unique positions so i have a puzzle rating of 2100 and game rating of 700 something

No. If there was, mods would have blocked your manifesto.

Wow, you're on quite the rant there. And I hear ya ... sometimes things just seem like crap. Most play chess for fun. The majority that on forums are a mix of all types from kids to Badgers. And most want to improve their 'scores' simply because they use it as an indicator of whether their methods of improving are working.

But really, isn't it time to let that go and just have fun? :-)

Even though I am almost 2100, I don't think that people should listen to my opinions on general topics more than a 200. If someone is asking "can someone help me get better at chess?", than that is a bit of a different matter, but that also doesn't mean that you should completely disregard lower rated people's opinions.

Fun fact, I've seen a 100 rated player tell a 200 rated player not to give advice on how to improve in chess lol

There ain’t no chess caste system. I feel like the 400’s always seem to have more authority

People always seem to forget elo defines you at your worst not at your best

(Yes, the game against Sven was for disrespect.)
