Chess.com 10 Sec Bullet Streaks???????

Has anyone noticed new accounts being created within the last week playing constant 10 Sec Bullet games losing to the same opponent then turning around and winning against the same opponent after that opponent has accumulated a long streak of "Wins"?

Does anyone know what that approach to ratings harvesting is called? & is there anything wrong with what those newly created accounts are doing?

I just find it interesting, but if it is sus, then perhaps Chess.com should make all games under 1 minute "Unrated" just in case.

After all, patterned behavior seems to be more prevalent in games online with extremely low time controls. Thoughts?

It’s a good pint I haven’t seen this before, but I’m kinda new to chess.com anyway 🥴

I'm sure the Staff & Mods on Chess.com are becoming aware of this

It seems like some have found a way to manipulate the Chess.com ratings in Bullet by using extremely low time controls

It looks like there is a group of accounts on the site that regularly harvests ratings by playing extremely low time control bullet games around 10 secs & they will play opponent accounts rated sometimes 300 to 500 pts lower & accumulate +1 or +2 rating points for each "win" while playing hundreds of games over and over against much lower rated opponent accounts with the same 10 sec controls

It's sus because if you look at their ratings increases, unknown accounts suddenly enter the top 200 and start jumping players like Hikaru in the bullet ratings while they are playing 10 sec games

It's all on the site stats for everyone to see so Chess.com Staff & Mods should be aware of it. Everyone just needs to take a look at the players' ratings from say 1 year ago and compare it to their bullet ratings now and you will see how they've manipulated the ratings system with the 10 sec time controls

I'm just curious if anyone else has noticed this patterned behavior or informed the Staff because those "top rated" bullet players on the rankings aren't really that good at real bullet chess. just the 10 sec fluff versions

I wish that Chess.com would purge the 10 sec bullet games from the rated Bullet rankings because ratings manipulation seems to be what is driving the 10 sec bullet play by those accounts that are harvesting +1 or +2 ratings pts with hundreds to thousands of 10 sec games/under 1 min games

it's not real bullet chess once you drop below 1 min as a time control. the group of accounts taking up space in the rankings for bullet on Chess.com are manipulating the bullet ratings system with the 10 sec games

that's the reason why I said that Chess.com should make all 10 sec games within the past year record as "Unrated" games because it's pretty clear that ratings manipulation has been occurring using the 10 sec time controls.

if the Staff & Mods reach that conclusion, then why not make the decision to remove those 10 sec games that were played from the accounts that used extremely low time control games to manipulate the ratings system?

it's about protecting the integrity of bullet chess at 1 min Bullet

currently, you're encouraging the ratings manipulators to use 10 sec games to jump to the top of your rankings & it brings into question the legitimacy of the Bullet rankings
