Chess.com clock flaw.

Just lost two games because of chess.com clock issue. I was playing a 2 min 1 sec game when both my opponent and I made one move each. Then a screen pops up saying that I lost on time. This was 5 seconds into the game. Very upsetting. Even more upsetting is that it happened twice.

There are occasional bugs and server issues.  Chess.com is a little fussy in general, but these articles might help.  Could be something simple...

Now when I play my clock is running at hyper speeds. Just lost 4 more games because either as soon as I make the first move I loose or my clock goes from 2 minutes down to 0 seconds in about 39 seconds. How do I get a refund?

learn about lag. probably its due to your poor internet connection.

I still don't see how 2 minutes can elapse over a 30 second time interval. Or how I would loose after 1 move and 5 seconds. Also, I've never had this problem before and I'm using 4g LTE or a wireless connection with 40 MB/S.

I stopped playing here and instead play all live chess, including tournaments, on ICC because yeah ...there are clock issues, bugs in V3 that I hadn't noticed until I had used it for some time, and technically it just can't compare to the Blitzin client. More tournaments, better competition, lag handled properly, all the GM's, etc, etc. What else do you need?

Hopefully Chess.com can work out these issues over time. Although it is getting ridiculous that V3 is as late as it is and yet V2 still has bugs galore. Not good Chess.com. Not good at all. Maybe less Danny Rensch vs The Machete and more tech support/coding/improvement to the live chess.

Are you playing on iOS? If so, force stop the app, that should fix it.  I know that was a problem in some older versions but I don't know if they have tracked down the root cause and fixed it.

Shutting off my I phone fixed the problem temporarily. But I just lost two additional games because my time was running at 3X speeds. So much for the perks that come with being a platinum member.

I guess it hasn't been fixed yet. Forcing the app down for now is probably your best bet. From reading other topics about the problem it was something they were having poblems finding the root cause.
