chess.com doesn’t want to solve insulting messages issue. Why?

Stockfish, the computer I use, is the best chess engine so far (with the exception of a few computers that may have escaped my memory). I believe that it calculates the score correctly. Who is Mr. Rensch? and what is CAPS?

By this I mean no disrespect, but what can they do? Hook a computer to their account? Then they'll make the best move every 0.1 seconds, and that would be obvious. I suppose they could have another search engine alongside the game, but even then, it would take at least a second to process the move your opponent made, another 2-3 to plug it into the computer, and then 5-10 for the computer to calculate. It is irrideal for blitz games.

I apologize, I meant to say "Post an entire forum on the matter", and I just advised him to not make such a big deal about the event.

Danny Rensch is the founder and owner of the website

This is a video in which he explains the accuracy number and what it actually means. (CAPS score).

Also, I won't get into the cheating thing for obvious reasons it isn't really good to discuss methods, but I'll just say that it's unfortunately very easy to cheat but luckily chess.com has a very good system for detecting it.

You're fine, I actually think it's quite funny when someone accuses you of cheating because it's like they are complimenting your play. They can whine about it in a forum but at the end of the day Chess.com will make the right call.

I just played a guy of about 100 ranking points higher than me ------ and beat him. We did not communicate at all both during and after the game but he also reported me at the end. Why? Not too sure. Probably a very sore loser who will try and say I cheated.

Personally I think it is a compliment but also a sign he is a terrible loser. I learn more from my loses than my wins so whatever. Besides, we aren't playing for sheep stations.

How do you know when they've reported you?

I'm sorry for what happened to you. Report him or her! P.S. Can you say who this person is?

Why name and shame? Guy's a jerk and support will get around to dealing with it. If everybody spams the guy hate messages that's just gonna make him more stressed and lash out like this at more people.

Chess is not for the weak minded.  Have you considered checkers?

He sent me a message that said "reported", then blocked me.

Hi. I am not so sensitive but we are not playing soccer here. I have higher expectations from a chess player. I am just surprised by this kind of offending messages and also by the people who think it’s something normal and more than this, I am very disappointed by the way chess.com is managing this -just do nothing. Doesn’t matter who wrote the message, can and will be a lot like him with this lack of interest from the admins.

That's the perks of online community - so I would suggest to get used to it, by ignoring it, or just block chat entirely (I believe there is this feature, no?).

I come to chess from Dota 2 - so far I have not find any insult that bother me. Well it maybe just me hardened too much by Dota 2 all chat. In general chess community is much more polite and decent.

Why thank you for saying my name tag might be more important than the most important statement in history.

Exactly! Just ignore these people, and you'll be fine. If they get too annoying, block them. I agree with you that there are a lot of crybaby soccer players...

anna11a2

just report this person.

It’s [User ID Removed_GC]. But as mentioned before, chess.com should not allow this. They still did nothing

Finally a moderator appeared. Talking about “respect”, have you seen the message I am complaining about? Took any measures? Thanks

About one month ago, after a game where my opponent, who was winning, started to make mistakes, he gave up and sent me this message:

“you have been reported for cheating and I hope you are banned. you are a pathetic specimen who cannot take an honest defeat. shame on you you absolute wasteman

you think people wont notice if you play like a total spanner, go behind, take a huge pause and then play all the best moves? HA. loser

what an utter spanner you are”

I sent two messages to the administrator as I can’t accept this. I am not paying to be offended or to cheat. Chess.com seems to avoid taking measures in this case. Very disappointed.

Stress always sends a proportion of people loopy and there's been stress lately so we should probably be forgiving. You should have seen how Americans went just after 9/11. Totally understandable, because the shock must have been terrible and a proportion of people had their normality hit for six.

Cricketing term. Six runs if you hit it off the field of play.

As it happens I was a wicket-keeper for 40+ years.
