Why does chess.com do this you ask? For money. You see, if you improve too fast on your own, you won't need to buy a chess.com premium membership and pay them for their puzzles and lessons and drills.
Tilting = good for chess.com, because it means you're not good enough to improve on your own without their paid services.
As someone who has had diamond membership and gave out countless premium memberships to my members at Beginners & Masters and my friends, I can tell you first-hand the premium memberships do nothing for your game. There's tons of other websites that give you free puzzles. Even then, puzzles play minimal (if any) role in your chess progression. Most GM's agree puzzles are just for fun and don't actually apply to real games and your chess improvement. I suppose, if you're just starting it helps you understand how the pieces move, but other than that...
long story short, chess.com continues to be greedy and money-grubbing corrupt snots who want to see you fail so you pay them money.
So you're saying the Chess.com is a really efficient way to lose money?
Even if the Membership are expensive, they're at least worth it. I mean, worth a LOT. If it wouldn't be for Chess.com I wouldn't be able to pass 500 rating.

I really don't think that chess.com would bother to faking rating of somebody only to make you tilt hard.. its just a stupid conspiracy theory..
But I agree with statement that premium membership is almost useless for "faster learning chess". Some puzzles you can try to solve almost anywhere, analyzing games you can without the "fancy emoji guy" who would tell you that this and that was a best move and this was only a good move.. etc. you can do the exactly same with the free analyzes, only it isn't so cool watching changing decimal numbers while you are trying diferent lines...
getting better in chess is mainly about time you are willing to invest in it and not about money and even if I would want to spend money for learning chess, I would spend them for a coach or a book much much rather than for this.

I figured it out! You are not playing under rated bots! Those are higher rated players whose rating is displayed lower to you than it really is. So you think you are not improving despite all your free study and free game playing. In fact, you effectively become one, used against other non payers. Your rating only goes to it true level if you pay for premium. It all is starting to make sense now. We need to put our heads together more often.

ever considered that you're playing a board game against another human with similar rating, which therefore means theres a good chance you'll lose every time you play a match? You're gonna get outplayed eventually. Just because you got outplayed doesn't mean chess.com is corrupt. Magnus doesn't say that chess organisations are pairing him up against players who are cheating after he goes on winning streaks in tournaments or whatnot, because its a stupid claim.
Also how would you even know an account is a smurf, that's a ridiculous presumption to make about someone without any evidence.

It's not allowed but nobody does anything about it.
- chess.com issues with cheating have become so bad and there has been little to no change. what makes it even worse is that you can get banned or censored for calling out chess.com about that issue.
- chess.com removes or mutes people that they dont agree with. if you call them out for something wrong they did you will get muted. if you offend somebody (over the smallest things) you will get muted. etc..
- the moderation on this site is very poor and often times they dont inforce any rules/ inforce other rules that either dont exist or just because they feel like inforcing it today

pay for membership and you will actually improve
