As of rn there is no rule in place obligating you to accept rematches if you can, and thus it is not about fair play.

By fair play I mean both players getting a chance to play with both colors

Fair enough, I still don't see anything wrong with asking.

I think chess.com is just trying to protect the cowards feelings... that’s probably why they haven’t implemented it yet. What other reason could there be?

PErhaps that they have never been asked.

Search the forum and you'll see 100s of request for it over the years. Search google. Search reddit. The facts are there.

The local Fair Play Policy is here: https://www.chess.com/legal/fair-play

There is nothing about rematches

I explained what 'I' meant by fair play. You can continue pretending to not see or understand it.

Yep, I saw. But your fair play is not a part of local Fair Play Policy, thus its not obligatory

And I bet it will never become so

If he keeps this up, he is right.

You mean calling other players cowards when they dont want to rematch?

yup and just expecting chess.com to implement it without it being requested.

Markus has some decidedly odd as well as unhealthy beliefs about games, chess, opponent- obligations, competition and self-purpose. Unsurprisingly, he's a bit angry ,as well.

Chess.com certainly does have some cowards, that's for sure

And mazochists as well

What's a mazochist?

Jack Sark recommends avoiding rematches to avoid tilt; ( https://youtu.be/WnT6Jn5aa-c?si=fqz2gfA6DSdTDGa0&t=248 ).

Reasons I avoid rematches:

1. I could be finishing my chess session or have an offline task to do - a rematch shouldn't be assumed obligatory. If a rematch was destined to be then surely we'll cross paths OTB.

2. A rematch is unfavorable because the element of surprise is lost. Your opponoent now has a better grasp of your playing style, strengths and weaknesses.

3. There's no glory to be gained by adopting or farming weak players. There's more knowledge to be gained in losing to a stronger player than winning against a weaker one.

4. I don't like the psychological aspect. The first game is with a stranger, the second makes the experience feel more personal. More likely to tilt when emotional stakes are raised. Tilting deprives opponents of the chance to play against their best.

5. It's not a fair assessment without each player starting as white but I'm aiming to assess my maximum rating under ideal online conditions. Besides, the games are randomly paired, so we'll eventually pair back up anyway. Happens frequently.

Is mazochist a real word?

I remember the "feminine cowards" edition of this

Considering this thread a mazochist is a player who keeps using a certain website on and on despite the fact that it makes him angry all the time

#58, what was it?
