chess.com making me loose rating without me playing games?
i am not obsessed with my rating but when say every five games you get a random "hey here is -10 because u lost some game u never played" in the long run its not fun lol
i just got 2 of those in 4 games. and i won 2 out of my 4 games. but i got extra negatives so i dropped by like 20. after 2-3 days of this i reached a new stable rating 100 points lower ;P so i guess my opponents are unlucky and are playing someone 100 points higher ...
You're aborting games. That's why your rating is dropping. The system can't distinguish between an intentional disconnect and one due to a bad connection.
Fair play policy states that if you abort too many games you will start to lose point every time you abort. I am not sure for how long it stays that way.
I had same trouble this evening. I lost 60 points today. Staff of chess.com was saying its part of fair play policy.
I used to play at ICC earlier this was never an issue.
abt2mate i saw your post. me too there is random games that i lost that i never played if I look.. and aparently i keep "aborting" which i dont so it keeps happening. my blitz was in the 1150-1250 range and i slowly dropped to 1050. i guess i wont play a couple of days and see how it goes. anyways, удача!
If there is a penalty for aborting games, good! I'm tired of players wasting my time by accepting my game request, then aborting as soon I play 1.d4 (or whatever opening they are afraid of). I suspect that sometimes it is not about my opening, but instead because of the American flag next to my avatar. Also, I suspect that many players are aborting games because they want to play only as white.
A penalty of one rating point per aborted game is not enough, it should be more like 10 or 20 points.
