Chess.com Rating Inflation

I haven't played chess since February 2024, not once. I ragequit with a peak of 1985 because bullet makes me go insane after awhile. Yesterday I logged in, and after 2 hours of grinding, I finally got the elusive rating of 2000.  I certainly feel very slow and washed at this game; I don't feel as though I am better now than I was before. 

I'm curious to hear your guys' thoughts: Has there been rating inflation since ~the start of 2024?

You might actually be playing better than you think—experience can carry you even when you feel "slow".

i used to be rated around 1600 blitz. when i'd get hot, i'd get to 1750. i haven't played on chess.com in about a year. suddenly im 1900. i dunno. could be other things leading to improvement, or could be chess.com trying to find literally every single way to squeeze one last drop of dopamine out of our systems so they can make an extra penny.
