User Experience
One of the most important factors in any online platform is user experience. Chess.com is a more polished and professional-looking website than lichess.org. It is designed to be visually appealing and easy to use. The user interface is intuitive, and it is easy to navigate through the site. Chess.com has a user-friendly dashboard that provides quick access to all the important features of the site.

On the other hand, lichess.org has a more basic and minimalist design. While it may appeal to some users who prefer a no-frills approach, it can be less inviting for others. The site can feel cluttered, and it can be difficult to find the features that you need. The overall user experience on lichess.org is not as smooth as on chess.com.

Features
When it comes to features, chess.com has a lot more to offer than lichess.org. Chess.com provides a wide range of features that cater to both beginner and advanced players. Chess.com provides access to lessons, puzzles, videos, and articles that can help players improve their game. Additionally, chess.com has a built-in tournament system that allows players to compete against each other in a structured environment.

Lichess.org, on the other hand, has a much more limited range of features. While it does offer access to puzzles and lessons, the options are not as comprehensive as on chess.com. Additionally, lichess.org does not offer any built-in tournament system, which means that players have to rely on external platforms to organize their own tournaments.

Community
Another important aspect of online chess is the community. Chess.com has a much larger community than lichess.org. Chess.com boasts over 32 million registered users, while lichess.org has just over 1.5 million. The larger community on chess.com means that there are more players to compete against, and it is easier to find opponents who match your skill level.

In addition to the larger community, chess.com has a more active and engaged community. Chess.com offers a range of social features, such as forums, blogs, and chat rooms, that allow players to interact with each other. Chess.com also has a rating system that allows players to track their progress and compare themselves to other players.

Lichess.org, on the other hand, has a more passive community. While it does offer forums and chat rooms, they are not as active as on chess.com. Additionally, lichess.org does not have a rating system, which can make it difficult for players to track their progress and compare themselves to other players.

Mobile App
Finally, it is important to consider the mobile app experience. With the increasing use of smartphones, online platforms need to have a mobile app that provides a seamless experience. Chess.com has a mobile app that is available for both Android and iOS. The app is well-designed and provides access to all the important features of the site. The mobile app is particularly useful for players who want to play on the go.

What are you talking about? The user interface is somewhat correct and I am one of those people that like the minimalistic interface. With regards to puzzles, Lichess has a lot of good puzzles and even has a dashboard so you can see how well you do in certain areas. Credit where it is due, Chess.com does have better "original" videos than Lichess which some are surprisingly good although Lichess does have studies which I like to use and often works well with chess.com videos if you are watching an opening series or you want to take notes on a specific game. What seems strange is that you mentioned chess.com has articles but never mention it about Lichess.  Makes people assume they don't have it and Lichess arenas are actually better and Gotham Chess said that and he almost exclusively plays on chess.com.

The registered users is a nice thing to have and just by looking at the stats while doing this response, chess.com has at least double the number of active players than lichess although both sites have high enough numbers that it's fairly easy to get a game. Although when you say aa rating system, Lichess also has one so you can compare with others (but not as conveniently but at the end of the day, your FIDE rating is more important than your rating on any chess site.. On top of that, you make it sound like Lichess doesn't have an app by only mentioning Chess.com. Lichess has a more practical app than chess.com. If I want to quickly look at an opening, I can do so much better than Chess.com because I can have the engine and opening explorer run at the same time and the app isn't as laggy as Chess.com partly because we aren't overfilled with beginners playing bots.

Both are great. Lichess is free, so it's always an option when I run out of money and sometimes I can't pay for Chess.com. I have to admit that Chess.com is friendlier and has more tools than Lichess, but Lichess also has amazing tools for free. It's a matter of taste.

Lichess is way more smooth and chess.com has more features

but its impossible to play bullet on chess.com

so lichess is better

whiteknight1968

Lichess is better because it has a classical category, and does not include 10/0 and 60/0 in the same pool which is plain stupid, and makes the "rapid" ratings quite meaningless.

I like them both. I mainly play casual games on lichess and do puzzles there. As a young man i can’t really afford premium membership here so i kind of prefer lichess. Also i like the default theme of lichess over the neo pieces with green board in here if that matters lol

Lichess offers tournaments every day for the bullet and blitz categories in the under 1700 and 2000 categories. Typically over 200 compete in each tournament, so you can see how you measure up against those with similar ratings. Some criticize the site for inflating ratings, but I don't agree. Granted that the default is 1500, but if a new player loses a few games initially, he'll quickly fall below 1200. A new member's rating will rise or fall dramatically, until they've played at least 50 games, at which time ratings rise or fall 6 - 7 points depending on the rating of the player played against.

The only criticism I have with chess.com is response time. This is probably because all the members overwhelm their servers. Bottom line is that both sites are fine.

Chess.com often has technical problems I've never encountered on Lichess. Lichess for me is Superior. A few times for no reason I will lose a few seconds off my clock when it pulsates or freezes. It will also claim I've abondaned, a total lie. Chess.com is garbage.

I like both, but I like chess.com better. It has more stuff to do, like articles, forums, videos, things like that. On lichess you can really only play and do puzzles.

gameknot

Ziryab

I played on gameknot fifteen to twenty years ago. The site is adequate. It was created before other sites existed for online correspondence play. Alas, it has not kept up with the competition.
The best things I gained from gameknot is one puzzle that I use with my students and the site's forums sent me to chessworld.net (https://www.chessworld.net/chessclubs/asplogin.asp). Neither of these rival chessdotcom, but for correspondence play, both are better than lichess.

You don't know what you are talking about. Nothing you said proved anything. Also, you are lucky this is only a gif of Clint Eastwood from Gran Torino because otherwise, it could get really ugly especially with what you said

Also my rating on lichess is 1700 but my rating on chess.com is 1100 I went to play with my friends on a match I lost four games of six games I really think Lichess rating is so high because If you just win 2 match you will be 1700 but on chess.com it’s fair and better to get you only 100 rating on your first win. chess.com really show your a beginner or a advanced player

chesscom uses the elo rating system while lichess uses the glicko-2 rating system they are Different rating systems so the ratings will be Different
