idiotic opening tricks dumbo's learned in a chess for stupid youtube video, cheap play, flagging.. total destruction of an otherwise excellent game from a disgraceful community with terrible terrible leadership.

Bobby Fischer wouldn't even bother playing this game online. Very intellectually damaging.

How dare you insult the great Kirsan Ilyumzhinov in such a casual and cavalier manner? You should be ashamed of yourself!

Why did you buy a crown membership?

1. "Opening tricks" only work because people blunder. Working on tactics is important.

2. What is "cheap play?"

3. Play longer time controls if you don't like this. At any rate you should see the clock as a tool an not an impediment. Otherwise you're going to have a bad time.

4. Fischer quit chess.

The man was already "damaged" intellectually.  Looks like your intellectual skills aren't top-notch either, judging from your spelling and punctuation. Or maybe you're just lazy. Either way, don't let the door hit you on the arse on the way out!

Carlsen isn't unbeatable. Everyone make mistakes.

Darkhorse, getting schooled like that says one thing--you (in general, not necessarily you personally) are not really looking. You're not taking your opponent's plans into account at all. You're all but ignoring them. It's not as though you can't see the moves you're opponent is making in the first place. They are right in front of you. Getting mad at chess for your failure to actually open your eyes is silly. Does anyone today understand the concept of self-ownership and self responsibility? Is every failure someone else's responsibility? What a bunch of effeminate crybabies. Grow some balls.

Yeah, but records are meant to be broken. In a few years the peak rating could be 4000!

just look at off topic. full of time wasting losers. Where is the fun in spamming 500 comments in one hour? Just look at some of the users in off topic. The difference between the games they acutally played and the points they got from spamming is insane.

Yup. It's more fun to do 25000 comments in 500 hours!

If anything it's a place for discussion, no one really cares about the goal anymore.

Anyway, off topic is OFF TOPIC.

If you want to speak chess, avoid it. It is meant to be about NON CHESS RELATED THINGS. (By definition)

I hate to be that guy, but I actually kind of agree with Pullin. I'm not saying that missing tricks and traps don't justify a loss, but having to play an opponent that's constantly choosing to play an inferior trap move in favor of a superior "regular" move is really annoying and sucks the fun out of the game. I'd much rather play a game that challenges your strategical and tactical chess knowledge to create a fresh and exciting idea than a game which questions my memorization of the same trap sequences over and over again. Usually I just lose "trap" games because I either get bored of sidestepping or I'm simply not familiar with the trap yet. Traps are the opposite of what chess should be about.
