One of my opponents called me a cheater for using the Greek Gift against him.

Pro tip, Use the greek gift.

Waterstone33

I like to drive people insane even though I try to be nice... (lose by timeout (with 5 minutes) rather than checkmate).

WCPetrosian

THAT'S TOO FAR

Waterstone33

Although, I beat someone better than me in chess in checkers.

I lost to martin once

OP_Chessist

The only ever chess tournament I played in (tourney rules but not technically a tourney), I was up against someone in his 40s (I think) and he was lower rated than me I'm pretty sure (I was 15 for context). It was endgame, I had 8 mins on my clock and he had 3 (rapid game). It was King and knight on King (with me as white) so technically a draw but we played it out until his time ran out. We both knew it was a draw but we didn't care lol.

I missed this M1 puzzle because I didn't see the bishop guarding e7 and played Qe7

It took me a couple seconds to find it (as an about 1400 irl ig). It's Rd8# (not easy to find).

My opening strategy as a kid would literally be "move the fourth pawn from the left". Yes, I used to be a d4 player.

i used to play only d4 because i did not know e4 supremacy

i also liked to play the portuguese opening when i did find out about e4

Awm_tea

Even though I'd like to, I see no improvement so I stuck in 1000.

SriyoTheGreat

Here are 2 of my weird childhood openings (I don't remember them properly, so it could be mirrored) -

1.(Me as black) -

2. (Me as either colour)

Also @thechessnerd big fan

adityasaxena4

I try to aim for tactics from beautiful games like the Serper-Ionaidis game and the Game 20 Lyon Championship Kasparov v Karpov Ruy Lopez Nxh6! Intuitive sacrifice without knowing which position they did it in

As a teenager who has been playing chess for I'd say a year and a half-ish now, I still prefer d4 over e4. But I prefer Nf3 over both of those.

Common openings I play are: Queen's Gambit, Ruy Lopez, Reti: Reversed Mexican and Alekhine's. Once I played a game where it started as a queen's (I was black) and it delved into a caro kann which I won. Another time, I was white and it started in a van geet and delved into a giocco piano or something like that

lr12107

it was down to their pawn and their king.. and i made a queen they made a queen i had three queens and they just said welp im doomed. and offered a draw then they quit i have never been so angry at a stranger in all my life XD

nba_xander

one time i sneezed and accidentally touched a pawn in an in person tournament. lost the game because my queen was being attacked
