I think they usually use Fritz/Chessbase.

I'm not sure whether this functionality (drawing arrows, highlighting squares, and so on) is available in Chessbase Lite, but I know Fritz 9 has it.

No go on Chessbase Lite, or if it is possible I can't find it. Looks like you may need to purchase Fritz. I have Fritz 12 and think that any serious chess player should have it.

Are you for real? There are so many equally good alternatives to Fritz. Heck, even the free program SCID will be enough for the vast majority of players.

Yes, I realize for many people that free programs will work quite well. I used Crafty for some time and got along just fine.

But you can drive to work in  a '92 Ford Tarus just as easily as you can in a GT40, but which one would be more fun?

I know there are plenty of people on here who would say their money was well spent with Fritz.
