Chess Elo inflation is the phenomenon where a player's rating increases over time without a corresponding increase in skill.

In chess.com, there are some that has high rating without playing for a year. A win in 2025 was +8 but now could be +57 elo. How could this happen??

That's just how glicko works. Cause you know... chess.com doesn't use elo...

Depends on what you understand by elo

Chess.com does not use elo. Chess.com used glicko. And you get more rating points for a win because you haven't played in a while here, but the system doesn't know if you practiced elsewhere so it makes your rating get faster to your current strength.

Glicko is a modified Elo. So to quote MrChatty, "Depends on what you understand by Elo".
