I solved the problem with Chessmaster 11. It allows you to control both the difficulty and randomness of the computer. Perfect for my needs.

another way is to set up the opening you are interested in on the computer b4 u start playing.
No, I don't want to set a specific opening, I just wanted to add more variety of moves to the engine because it was playing always the same moves, CM11 solved the problem well, it has a "randomness" parameter.
To test a specific opening I am using CM11 and moving back/forward freely pressing ctrl+d/ctrl+i to change sides / edit moves.
And of course on the other side Rybka 4 + arena 3.0 ;D

I'm looking for a chess engine that plays a high variety of different moves. The ones I have play only a few moves, for a particular reason, I need engines that play a wider variety, or I need to be able to edit the ones that I have to do that. I use arena 3.0
