Spend time on what you enjoy studying, that way you'll do more, and get more out of it. It's less productive to force yourself to do studying that you don't enjoy.
Slow games develop your depth. Quick games develop your instincts, sort of. In the long run, slow chess will help you more, but you'll get better at blitz faster by playing more blitz!
Hey, I was wondering what percentage you guys would recommend me spending my chess time on what? (i.e. 20% openings, 30% tactics, 50% playing games... or whatever topics you guys come up with) I'd like to improve, and am wondering maybe what would be the best way how. My standard rating is only 1045. Also, do you think I'd improve more with slow chess (and really think more about my moves), or speed chess (And get more games in). Thanks.
