Shut up Tramp. I have a better shot for presidency and I am not living, nor born, in the US.
How are you going to have a better shot at the presidency when your chess ratings are so low? Please stop with your jokes, I dont like kidnapping people.

oh for goodness sake.
Chess is played in the arabic world; and as I recall one of the strongest chess tournament is the qatar open- which has drawn top GM's from all over the world.

as for strong chess players,
GM Bassem Samir (2661) is a particularly strong player though there are several others in egypt
another name that I've seen before is GM Salem Saleh of the UAE (2629)

Chess was introduced by the arab musilms to the west after they conquered spain. Today Dubai open is one of the most important chess tournaments and there are hundreds of arab GM. Interesting enough one of the best American players Yasser Seirawan is an arab but he and his family has been living in america for a long time
