But how do you get on this site? Are they strict with what websites you go on?

I forgot. I've lived in the United States for too long. In a rich country.

Nay, it's not a problem of money, not in France. It's just handy n easy you can play it so just anywhere, at school, in the bus, etc. There are many such games one can play with just a pen and paper when not home, or if you don't have got the proper game in a box and want to play it anyway.

In jail, once, I drew and cut a chess board and chess pieces (book like) on cardboards, and had for it a playable set in a situation where nothing better was at hand before long.

This is a game from September vs the guy who's 1550 on chess.com its my only game I've recorded but I'll record more if people want them. I'm a big fan of the romantic era of chess and love to play the danish gambit, kings gambit, smith morra gambit as white and as black I like the philidor countergambit and idk if there is a name to this opening but after 1.e4 e5 2. Bc4 I do 2...b5 doing a reverse Evans gambit I suppose? I have yet to play Evans gambit once as white which is very disappointing.

1. e4 e5 2. f4 exf4 3. Bc4 Qf6 4. Nf3 d6 5. 0-0 h6 6. d4 g4 7.e5 dxe5 8. Nxe5 Be6 9. Re1 Be7 10. Bxe6 exe6 11. Qh5+ Kd8 12. Nf7+ Kc8 13. Nxh8 Qxd4+ 14. Kh1 Qxh8 15. Qe8+ Bd8 16. Rd1 Nc6 17. Review gives accuracy 75.9% - 62.1% and ratings 1450-1100 for White and Black respectively. Nice game, I hope you will write down more of your games to share with us.

There was a guy in one of my dorms who made a whole chess set out of soap, we played with it for a while.

Thanks for analyzing my game, I'll post more.

Here's a game vs 2-piece (guy who beats the 1550 guy regularly, his name is 'spree') that I got his queen in only 7 moves. This isn't a line/trap I've memorized but I suspect if I was to read a book on the kings gambit itd be in there.

Game vs 2-piece

1.e4 e5 2.f4 exf4 3.Bc4 Qh4+ 4.Kf1 Nf6 5.Nf3 Qg4 6.Bxf7+ Kxf7 7.Ne5+ 1-0

Game vs Spree(1550 chess.com)

1.e4 e5 2.f4 exf4 3.Bc4 Qf6 4.Nf3 Bc5 5.d4 Bb4+ 6.c3 Be7 7.0-0 d6 8.Bxf4 Qxf4 9.Ne5 Qe3+ 10.Kh1 Nh6 11.Nxf7 Rf8 12.Nxh6 Rxf1+ 13.Qxf1 Qxh6 14.Qf7+ Kd8 15.Na3 Bd7 16.e5 Be8 17.Qg8 g5 18.Rf1 Qg6 19.Qd5 Bc6 20.Qa5 Qe4 21.d5 b6 22.Qb4 exe5 23.Rf8+ kd7 24.exc6+ Nxc6 25.Be6+ Kxe6 26.Qxe4 Rxf8 27.Qxc6+ Bd6 28.Qc4+ Kd7 29.Nb5 Rf4 30.Qd3 e4 31.Qd1 e3 32.Nxd6 1-0

Game wasn't the best game I blame it on having to keep track of all the moves and play at the same time its difficult but I'll get use to it.

How many moves ahead(ply) do grandmasters see? The average player? Well I read a study about it and I will summarize it here.

In the study there were 3 players, one was 1750 elo, one 2500, and one 2550 a grandmaster. They were shown positions from a game(same as a puzzle book) and were instructed to verbalize the moves ahead they saw.

In non complex, simple positions grandmasters don't see on average many more moves ahead than the average, they see 5 moves(ply) ahead while the 1750 player sees 2.5. The difference in skill becomes apparent when the positions are complex. In complex positions the 1750 player sees on average 2.8 moves ahead while the grandmaster sees 13.5. For maximum moves ahead one sees, the 1750 player sees 10 and the grandmaster sees 25.

For every 200 elo there is an increase in the ability to see ahead by 2.4 moves for the average and for the maximum it is 3.1 moves.

Thanks for the game review.

We got a new chess player in the dorm yessterday his name is "Britt". He did 15 years in prison for selling crack cocaine. He said he hasn't played in years but played everyday in prison. I beat him 4 straight.Almost gloved him. A glove is the ultimate achievement in jailhouse chess it is when you beat someone 5 straight. He said hes rusty as a nail. He knows the openings and doesn't blunder pieces away so I expect him to get much better as time goes on. Yet to see him play anyone else in the dorm. I play the kings gambit as white as always and he prefers d4 as white which I greatly disdain playing against.

For my chess book I've written 20 pages at 350 words per page so far. Thinking about writing another chess book on late starting masters or a book on a collection of interesting chess studies. Still waiting to leave for prison.

I made it to prison 13 days ago. Even though I have many more chess players to play, the competition isn't as good as it was in the jail. On the rec yard, where I get to play half the compound which is about 1700 inmates, I'm the best by a long shot as well as in my dorm. I think I got better though, I believe I may be around 2000 rated now. I am at a reception prison though which is all short timers. When I get to my main prison I'll be playing people who've been locked up for decades and that's where the best prison chess players are. Chess isn't as popular here as it was in the jail I'm from. I've been reading stuff about prison chess that my dad sends me from the internet and usually the best guy in a prison is rated 2000+ and there are a few class A players.

Pamvo7

Let's hope you get good players who will help you improve when you get to main prison. In the meantime, any good players among screws?

ahinoki

The atmosphere in prison is much harsher than the jail. Everyone was friendly in the jail. Here not so. 4 people have been robbed and one have 2 been jumped. also lots of drugs
